Andy Eisen was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and attended Clark County Public Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  He graduated Valedictorian from Chaparral High School, and was accepted into the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University.  After receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Medicine and an MD from Northwestern University Medical School, he entered residency training in Pediatrics.  With no option at the time to train in Nevada, he completed his Residency and Chief Residency in Pediatrics at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Coming home to Southern Nevada, Andy’s first job was at the University of Nevada School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and the Associate Director of the new Pediatrics Residency Program, working to be sure that future Nevadans would have the chance to be trained in Pediatrics here at home, and then serve our community as physicians.  Andy provided clinical care to children on the inpatient hospital service at University Medical Center, and served on the medical staff of Sunrise Hospital.  After three years, he became the Director of the Residency Program, a position he held until 2006.

In October of 2006, he took a position at Touro University Nevada as the Associate Dean for Clinical Education, responsible for the clinical experience for Touro’s medical students.  Working at Touro, Andy has helped bring opportunities for Nevada’s best students to go to medical school right here in Clark County.  At Touro, he is also the Medical Director for the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.

Andy has worked with a number of community organizations as a volunteer, including the Helping Kids Clinic, The Bower School-Based Health Center at Basic High School, and on the board of Directors of Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada.  He has served on the Clark County Child Death Review Team, working toward preventing child deaths, for more than a decade.  He currently serves as the Secretary for the Clark County Medical Society, and was appointed in 2012 by the Governor to serve on the State Mental Health and Developmental Services Commission.

Andy was elected to the Assembly to represent District 21 in 2012.  Some of the highlights of his record are here, and his official Assembly webpage is here.

In 1991, Andy married Diane, another Chaparral High graduate who is now a home-health Physical Therapist.  They have two sons: Jonathan, a Management student at UNLV, and AJ, a student at Silverado High School.
